Pat Cannone and Patrick Weircioch scored two goals each and both also had one helper each, leading the Binghamton Senators to a 6-1 victory over the visiting Portland Pirates in American Hockey league action Friday Night.
Senators’ goalie Ben Bishop stopped 40 of 41 shots to record his fifth win against 2 losses.
Portland’s Brendan Shinniman scored ay 6:10 of the first period, giving the Pirates a 1-0 lead, but Cannone came right back 29 seconds later with his first goal to knot the score at one. His second goal gave the Senators the lead for good at 5:33 of the second period.
Hugh Jessiman scored once and assisted on two other goals while Jakob Silfverberg had a goal and an assist for Binghamton who raised their record to 13-4-1-1, good for 26 points and a 1st place tie with the Syracuse Crunch in the East Division.
Mark Visentin allowed all six goals for his sixth loss in nine decisions for the Pirates, who dropped to 10-10-1-1 on the young season.
