AHL: Bruins crown Manchester Monarchs 3-2

Manchester Monarchs’ Bryan Rodney and Providence Bruins’ Kyle MacKinnon took turns scoring goals in the Dunkin Donuts Center in Providence Friday night, but it was Bruins’ defenseman Torey Krug that scored the gamer as Providence defeated the Monarchs 3-2.

Both Goalies faced 30 shots, as Niklas Svedberg stopped 28 for the win.  Martin Jones stopped 27 shots before being pulled with 1:30 left in the game.

Both teams were 0 for 5 in power play opportunities.

With the loss, Manchester falls to 10-9-2-1, good for second place in the Atlantic Division of the American Hockey League while Providence raises it’s record to 10-8-0-2 for 22 points, 1 point behind Manchester and 2 points behind Division leader Worcester.
