Video: Jack Edwards calls “The Dagger” in Monday night’s epic comeback by Bruins

Part of the experience of watching the Boston Bruins play hockey on television is the unbridled exuberance and excitability of play by play announcer Jack Edwards, and Monday night’s broadcast of Game 7 on the Bruins’ flagship station NESN was no exception.

Coming back from a 4-1 deficit in the 3rd period, Edwards, who at one point just after the Toronto Maple Leafs had gone ahead by that score in the rubber match of the Eastern Conference quarterfinals was openly lamenting the fall of the Bruins by stating “barring some sort of epic collapse by the Toronto Maple Leafs, they will be moving on to the conference semi-finals”, could not hold back his passion for the Bruins:

Is there any doubt about how Edwards feels about the team?

There are many examples of Edward’s passion and outright homerism, and the Bruins and NESN hit gold with this guy as the voice of the team…his smooth call and and knowledgeable insight add to the joy of moments such as we all witnessed in “The Comeback”.

Just imagine the scene if the Bruins win the Cup…
