Patriots (5-1) vs. Jets (3-3)
Time: 1:00 PM
Location: MetLife Stadium, East Rutherford, New Jersey
TV/Radio: CBS / 98.5 The Sports Hub
New England’s keys to victory:
1. The Patriots will need to find a way to replace Jerod Mayo (IR) and Aqib Talib (hip) in their 24th ranked defense. They have announced defensive end Rob Ninkovich and safety Devin McCourty will now serve as Defensive Captains and all players on defense need to step up and fill the holes depleted by inuries.
2. Rob Gronkowski is making his season debut and it’s anybody’s guess just how much work he will see. Tom Brady will like to see a familair face out there, and Gronk’s presence should open up the field more for developing receivers Kenbrell Thompkins and Aaron Dobson (Remeber to catch the ball with your hands boys, not against your body).
3. Stevan Ridley has struggled for much of the season but provided a spark to the running game last week with 96 yards and a pair of touchdowns. The Patriots will need at least the threat of a running game today against the Jets to give Tom Brady the time he needs. The Jets limited the Patriots to 232 total yards and kept Brady under wraps in the 13-10 Week 2 loss, only to see any chance of winning squashed when Geno Smith threw 3 fourth-quarter interceptions.
