Keys to Victory:
1. Run to establish the pass
In recent weeks we have seen the Patriots run the football effectively and then stray away from it. Stevan Ridley has produced big results despite playing a reduced role. His abilities need to be maximized in order to keep the defense honest and allow Tom Brady to beat the Steelers defense with a play action attack.
2. Stuff the run game
The Steelers enter today with the NFL’s 31st ranked rushing attack. The Patriots have been susceptible to the run since losing Vince Wilfork. The addition of Isaac Sopoaga should help the cause. If they can keep Pittsburgh at bay and force them into a one-dimensional attack, Ben Roethlisberger will have to beat a strong Patriots secondary. Roethlisberger has 7 interceptions and the Bill Belichick will have his men ball-hawking every team the ball is put in the air.
3. Keep the Steelers speed in check
Emmanuel Sanders and Antonio Brown are two of the faster receivers in the game. They each possess game breaking speed and need to be watched at all times. A hobbled Aqib Talib will have his hands full. Alfonso Dennard and Kyle Arrington will surely be tested, while the New England Safeties will have to protect against throws down the field. The Steelers do have a tendency to let it fly from time to time and being caught out of position will prove to be costly.
