Following their 34-31 victory over the Denver Broncos this past Sunday, the Patriots made a trio of minor roster moves Tuesday, as they begin preparations for a week 12 showdown with the Houston Texans.

Defensive back Justin Green, who was just signed off of the practice squad prior to the Broncos game, was cut from the team. Green played sparingly on Sunday night.

Defensive lineman Marcus Forston was also sent packing. Forston saw limited game action this season and can be viewed as a disappointment considering he could not crack the rotation with the losses of Tommy Kelly and Vince Wilfork.

New England’s lone addition was the signing of tight end D.J. Williams. The Jacksonville Jaguars released him earlier this month. The 6-foot-2, 245-pound target was unable to record a catch in those outings.

With the injury to back up tight end Michael Hoomanawanui, Williams figures to see some snaps in relief of Rob Gronkowski and Matthew Mulligan.

Many may be unaware of this, but Williams was a recipient of the John Mackey award in 2010, anointing him the best tight end in college football.
