The Bruins are reporting defenseman Johnny Boychuk has been cleared to travel with his teammates. This good news comes less than 24-hours after he and Max Pacioretty slammed into the end boards, resulting in Boychuk being stretchered from the ice.
Obviously Boychuk is destined to miss game time, but the amount of time is not yet clear. Coach Claude Julien did mention the details regarding the severity of Boychuk’s injury were a bit foggy, but it’s serious enough to have warranted a hospital visit.
When asked about the hit, Pacioretty said he “felt terrible.” Montreal’s forward went on to say, “I hope he gets better quick.”
In closing, Julien was hesitant to comment on whether he thought an injury to Boychuk’s back was in question. Boychuk will have an MRI upon returning to Boston and more details should arise on Saturday.
