Boychuk To Return, Hamilton and Eriksson To Miss Time

Boston Bruins winger Loui Eriksson has been placed on injured reserve because of a concussion stemming from the hit he took by Brooks Orpik of the Pittsburgh Penguins this past Saturday. It’s Eriksson’s second concussion in 45 days and that’s certainly a very bad sign.

Dougie Hamilton will be absent from the Boston lineup after the club announced that he’d be missing 2-4 weeks with a lower-body injured. It was sustained on Sunday in Toronto.

Daniel Paille will also be missing some time, as he is battling an undisclosed upper-body injury. Nick Johnson has been re-called from Providence on an emergency basis and will skate in place of Paille on Tuesday in Calgary. It’s unclear as to when Paille will return.

On a positive note, Johnny Boychuk will make his return to the lineup against Calgary after a frightening incident sent him to the hospital this past Thursday.

Boston is still without six starters. The other regulars being Adam McQuaid, Shawn Thornton and Chris Kelly.
