Keys to Victory

Pressure the quarterback: Ryan Tannehill has progressed nicely in Miami and has become an effective decision maker in the pocket. He has the weapons on the outside in Mike Wallace, Charles Clay and Brian Hartline to beat a defense if given ample time. The Patriots must get in his face and rush the signal caller. If done, Tannehill could potentially turnover the football.

Establish a ground attack: Without Rob Gronkiowski the Patriots will once again be forced to look for offense elsewhere. This game presents the perfect opportunity to return to a ground-and-pound offense. With Stevan Ridley, LeGarrette Blount and Shane Vereen all figuring to get touches out of the backfield, why not engage the Miami defense at the point of attack.

Survive without Gronk: New England in no way can replace the value Gronkowski brings to the club, but Tom Brady has a multitude of emerging playmakers he can turn to. Julian Edelman has been the model of consistency thus far, Vereen is emerging into an explosive passing target and Danny Amendola is always good for a few big gainers. Don’t count out rookie wide out Josh Boyce. He is poised to build off of a strong showing last week against Cleveland.

Key Actives:

Steven Gregory, Michael Homanamanui, Nate Solder, Will Svitek

Key Inactives:

Kenbrell Thompkins, Aaron Dobson
