(Update 2/28/14 1:36 p.m.) – According to Head Coach Claude Julien, Adam McQuaid has suffered a set back and will not make a return to the lineup as expected this weekend. ESPN Boston reported the news.
In their return to action on Wednesday, the Boston Bruins showcased many positive things. They were also plagued by a slew of uncharacteristic mishaps. The offensive moved the puck well and created many scoring chances. But they dropped the ball on the defensive end and were torched for five goals. Things look to be different Saturday as the team is expected to have two key players return to the lineup against the Washnigton Capitals.
Tuukka Rask was given the night off against the Buffalo Sabres. The decision was made in the interest of getting the stud goaltender additional rest following his impressive showing in Sochi. Rask is slated to return to the Boston crease in Saturday’s matinee affair at TD Garden.
Veteran defenseman Adam McQuaid is also being considered a possibility to dress and be in the lineup come game time. McQuaid has missed a large portion of this season battling numerous injuries, most notably a lower-body ailment with the leg.
McQuaid has been skating regularly with his teammates. He is said to be progressing nicely and hopes to dress in Saturday’s tilt. He is being classified as day-to-day.
