Boston Celtics 27th In Power Rankings

ESPN.com’s Marc Stein elevated the Boston Celtics to 27th in his power rankings this week.  This is great news for us C’s fans, as it is a sign that we are still bad enough to get a top four pick in the draft, and we are still watching half-decent basketball.

Here is what Stein said about the Celtics in this week’s rankings:

“In place of Rajon Rondo trade updates that are on hold until June, or further debate about Rondo’s unauthorized birthday activities, here’s a developmental update: Jared Sullinger is in the mix to finish fourth among second-year players in scoring behind only Damian Lillard, Anthony Davis and Bradley Beal.” – Marc Stein, ESPN.com

The C’s had an intriguing week last week, and their effort against the Indiana Pacers was admirable. This week should be fun with the Golden State Warriors coming to town on Wednesday. They also get the surging Brooklyn Nets and the floundering Detroit Pistons.

At 20-40, this week can go a long way towards the tanking process. I am still pulling for the top four draft pick zone and the Celtics can easily go 1-2 for the rest of the week. It doesn’t hurt that Chris Babb will be getting a lot of playing time due to injuries and lack of a better option. Let’s see what the C’s do this week and if they can drop below 27th in Stein’s next rankings.
