The Boston Bruins have been fairly quite as the 3 p.m. NHL trading deadline draws near. Though General Manager Peter Chiarelli did make one minor noteworthy transaction Wednesday morning.
The team announced that they had claimed former Edmonton Oilers defenseman Corey Potter off waivers. Edmonton placed the 30-year-old on waivers Tuesday.
Potter has skated in 16 games this season. He has no goals, five assists, and an even plus-minus in those games.
The right-shot defenseman checks in at 6-foot-3 and weighs 206 pounds. Potter will provide the Bruins with added depth along the blue-line. He plays a physical style and will fit in with Claude Julien‘s coaching philosophy.
