Live Like A Warrior - Boston Celtics Vs. Golden State Warriors Preview

A friend of mine wrote and performed the song above. It reminds me of this Celtics season, but more on that later.

My two favorite teams to watch play in the National Basketball Association. Christmas in March! Tonight the Boston Celtics take on Steph Curry and the Golden State Warriors at the Garden. The Warriors are closing out a six-game road trip, and with a win in Boston tonight, will finish 4-2 on their east coast swing.

The C’s have lost six of their last seven, but are coming off an excellent performance against the Indiana Pacers. This contest against the Warriors will be entertaining at the very least. Both teams are heading in very different directions, but I like this matchup for the Celtics.

I think Rajon Rondo will be a lot to handle for Curry and the Warrior guards. Jeff Green and Andre Iguodala will have to deal with each other, while Jared Sullinger will get a chance to guard David Lee for 30 minutes. There is an obvious edge for the Warriors, but the Celtics do have pieces to counter attack the Warriors offense. I imagine Brad Stevens will try and use the Warriors’ aggressiveness against them by setting a lot of backscreens for wings and letting Rondo orchestrate a more patient offense to keep the ball out of the Curry’s hands.

Back to the song posted above. I think the Celtics need to be able to soldier on after this season and put this one in the books. Obviously, they should try hard and develop their younger players as the season goes along, but they don’t want the losing culture to stick around this club. Throw this season in the flames and start anew next year.

Prediction: Warriors 109, Celtics 98
