The Boston Bruins will battle the Phoenix Coyotes at the TD Garden Thursday night for the first time since 2011. This meeting will mark the first game slated between the two sides in the next 10 days.

The Bruins are winners of six straight games after they roughed up their rival Wednesday night. They have their eyes set on the top prize in the Eastern Conference, as they trail the Pittsburgh Penguins by just one point for the top spot.

The Coyotes on the other hand are in desperation mode. Every point means the world to them, as they will have to scratch and claw their way through a loaded Western Conference to keep their playoff hopes alive.

Phoenix is amidst a four-game Eastern Conference road trip. They have won two straight games and will be gunning to add Boston to their winning streak. It’ll be a monumental task in slowing the Bruins, who have earned points in 11 of their last 12 games, including nine outright victories.

Phoenix goaltender Mike Smith will have his hands full. The Boston offense has outscored it’s opponents 26-10 during the course of their winning streak.

Chad Johnson, a former member of the Coyotes, will likely be in goal. He’s 13-3-1 on the year. Tuukka Rask should see some rest coming, considering the Bruins just played less than 24-hours ago.

Radim Vrbata, Martin Hanzal, Shane Doan, Mike Ribeiro, Keith Yandle and Oliver Ekman-Larsson are always threats for the Coyotes. Vrbata notched three points in last game against the Panthers.

Patrice Bergeron has five points in has last two games and had a goal Wednesday night in Montreal. Carl Soderberg has also been on fire, emerging as a top offensive threat in the Bruins lineup. Soderberg has five points in his last four games.

Dougie Hamilton has been a healthy scratch in favor of Andrej Meszaros in two straight games.
