Daniel Paille is still recovering from a concussion that he suffered last Sunday in Florida. With the playoffs nearing and a postseason birth well within grasp, there is no need for the Boston Bruins to scramble to get him back into the lineup. They’ll need him at full health moving forward.
According to CSNNE.com, rookie Matt Lindblad is set to make his NHL debut Saturday afternoon. He was recalled from Providence on Friday. Lindblad has scored 7 goals to go along with 15 assists in 43 games played with the baby B’s this season. He’ll be in the lineup against the Hurricanes, likely in place of Paille.
Lindblad impressed the Bruins coaching staff back in training camp. The youngster is accompanied with a strong work ethic and is a responsible, two-way forward. He began the season in Providence simply because he would have not seen any ice time in an already loaded lineup.
The 23-year-old will be the seventh rookie to debut this season with Boston.
In a couple of other lineup notes, Chad Johnson will start in place of Tuukka Rask who has won five straight games. Johnson has yet to be beaten at TD Gardent this season. Torey Krug will return after being a healthy scratch against Phoenix. Andrej Meszaros will sit out.
