About Last Night: Boston Celtics Vs. New Orleans Pelicans

What a game! The New Orleans Pelicans came away with a 121-120 victory over the Boston Celtics, in a game that took overtime to decide. Anthony Davis kept his tear going, scoring 40 points and grabbing 20 rebounds in the win. This was the first 40-point game for Davis in his young career, and did not disappoint fans who may have been watching him for the first time. Also, Kris Humphries hit an amazing shot to send the game to overtime! Here are some additional thoughts about last night’s contest:

  •  This was the kind of game Jeff Green needed. He scored 39 points and looked very confident throughout the game. He tied the game with two free throws late, a great measuring stick for someone who had been struggling as much as he has lately.
  • Jared Sullinger has looked solid off the bench, and had some productive minutes against Davis and the rest of the Pelican bigs. I just can’t wait for them to pair him with a shot-blocking center at some point in his career, hopefully sooner than later.
  • The Celtic guards struggled with Tyreke Evans and Eric Gordon, which surprised me. The size of Evans and Gordon made it hard for Rajon Rondo and company to defend them at certain points in the game. As well as Davis played, it was the games of both Evans and Gordon that put the Pelicans over the edge.
  • Chris Babb didn’t play, but Greg Stiemsma returned to the Garden. I know he has been there before, but I LOVE me some Stiemsma. I still can’t figure out a good way to show my affection for him. Whether it’s a nickname or a fan website, there has to be something I can do to raise awareness about Stiemsma.
