No Jim Calhoun doesn’t coach these Huskies. Kevin Ollie is the new leader at UConn and his team made a great comeback to beat St. Joseph’s and move onto the next round. They get Jay Wright and the two-seeded Villanova Wildcats. I feel like I am back in the real Big East! You can catch the game live here: www.ncaa.com/march-madness-live
Three Keys for UConn
- Don’t let the stats fool you. Villanova has been struggling from beyond the arc as of late. However, since when is Villanova NOT a three-point shooting team? Force ‘Nova’s guards to attack the rim and make them beat you with floaters. UConn has the length to bother the Wildcat guards and should use it to their advantage.
- Run, run, run. If Villanova is cold, then there will be plenty of long rebounds. Shabazz Napier is one of the best guards in transition in the nation, and much of UConn’s offense could come from the fast break tomorrow night. It wouldn’t be so bad for a team that has had its struggles shooting the basketball.
- Keep the boat rockin’. Jeremy Boatright had a good game on Thursday. He seems to be very confident right now and could be the offensive spark plug that could put the Huskies over the top. Keep getting him the rock and let him create with his dribble.
Tip-off is at 9:40 p.m. EST and will air on TBS. Oh, have you heard? You can watch the game live here: www.ncaa.com/march-madness-live
