Location: Prudential Center
Time: 3:00 p.m.
TV/Radio: NESN/98.5 The Sports Hub
The Boston Bruins will close out what was one on of the most successful regular season’s in team history on Sunday afternoon in New Jersey. They’ll battle the Devils for the third and final time this year. The team’s split the previous two meetings.
Boston won the Presidents’ Trophy on Saturday, crowning them as the top NHL team heading into the playoffs. This game will bear no meaning for the Bruins. It’s a mere playoff tuneup.
The Devils will pack their bags and head home for the offseason following the tilt. Goaltender Martin Brodeur will start in net for them. It’ll likely be his last game in a Devils uniform. He’ll be a free agent and has expressed the desire to play elsewhere in a position that’ll yield more playing time. Cory Schneider recieved all but 18 of the starts this year.
Veteran winger Jaromir Jagr could potentially be playing in his final game as Devil and possibly of his career. The 42-year-old Jagr is set to become a free agent. He’s seventh on the all-time goals list.
David Krejci scored two goals against the Sabres. He’s tallied six points over his last four games. He’ll look to continue his recent hot streak.
The Bruins have just one regulation loss in their last 10 games.
