The latest buzz around the Kevin Love-Golden State Warriors trade is a bit of good news for the Boston Celtics and their position in the Love sweepstakes.
Apparently, Warriors’ brass are unsure if they want to move shooting guard Klay Thompson in a deal for Love. This has put a wrench in a potential deal with the team that is supposed to be the favorite in acquiring the talented power forward.
While there is also talk that the Los Angeles Lakers may get involved to help convince Golden State to move Thompson by sending them a draft pick, it seems that the inclusion of Klay in any sort of trade may be too much of a deterrent (though I would send him for Love in a heartbeat).
So what is going through Danny Ainge‘s head knowing that the wheels of a potential trade are starting to turn?
Boston has been considered one of the strongest contenders behind Golden State, and may be putting together an offer based around their two first-round draft picks this year, Jeff Green, and either Kelly Olynyk or Jared Sullinger. While that is an enticing offer, it may be time for Ainge to up the ante just a little bit.
Minnesota is prone to either drafting, signing, or trading for shooting guards. Avery Bradley fits the mold of a type of player the T’Wolves would overpay after his contract is up, so why not include him in an offer for Love? We may begin to see more trade rumors pop up in the coming days before the draft. Don’t be surprised to see every name on the C’s roster come up in any deal revolving Kevin Love.
