Boston Bruins to host Philadelphia Flyers in 2014-2015 opener

We now know who the Boston Bruins will be battling in the 2014-2015 season following the NHL’s schedule release Sunday. The black-and-gold will get the ball rolling with a couple of familiar foes.

Boston will play host to the Philadelphia Flyers in the year’s inaugural contest on Wednesday, October 8 at 7:30 p.m. They’ll then depart for a meeting with division rival Detroit the next day.

The Bruins will get their first crack at revenge against the Montreal Canadiens on October 16. They’ll travel to the raucous Bell Centre for that tilt. The two teams will play a total of four games opposite one another.

The Stanley Cup champion Los Angeles Kings draw the Bruins twice. Boston will visit the Staples Center on December 2. The Kings will then make a Beantown appearance on January 31.

In some of the more notable matchups on the schedule, the Bruins will host the Chicago Blackhawks on December 11 and the Vancouver Canucks on February 24.

The Bruins will closeout their season on Aprill 11 at Tampa Bay.
