Boston Celtics Offer Not Enough For Kevin Love?

Rotoworld may have dropped a bomb on the Boston Celtics, as it reported that the Minnesota Timberwolves don’t think Boston has enough to offer for Kevin Love.

Love is the darling of this offseason, well outside of some of those other guys who are currently looking for new employment. The main contender for Love’s services are the Golden State Warriors, who are debating if its worth it to give up Klay Thompson along with other pieces for the former UCLA Bruin.

But what I don’t understand is how Boston doesn’t have enough to the T’Wolves just for Love. Minnesota has a big man in Nikola Pekovic, a point guard they like in Ricky Rubio and no swingmen, hence why they want a guy like Thompson so badly in return for Love.

So what can the C’s offer?

They can start with any future draft picks that they have that Minnesota could basically just chose from, as there is no shortage of selections. They can get Jeff Green for the next couple of years, who in his final year will be a valuable expiring-contract. Boston would also be willing to surrender Jared Sullinger or any of their young players as the only untouchable would be Rajon Rondo.

So you’re telling me a package of, Green, Bradley (or Smart), Sullinger and two first-round picks aren’t enough for Love and say Captain Jean-Luc Richard (I hope people get that)?

All Danny Ainge can do is wait until either the Warriors buckle and give up Thompson, or the Wolves realize they will never pry him away from Golden State. Be patient Celtics fans, until Love is wearing those sick uniforms the Warriors get to play in, there is no way that Boston doesn’t have enough for a deal, especially if he is still on Minnesota once the season begins.
