NBA Free Agency Primer: Weekend Preview

While a few small- to medium-level signings did take place this week, the NBA Free Agency frenzy is going to pick up this weekend, or at least we hope it does.

LeBron James, Carmelo Anthony, and others are expected to make their decisions over the weekend, though as we have seen so far this offseason, nothing is written in stone. Everyone has been throwing in their two cents about where each player will end up and now that this major weekend is approaching, it’s time to throw my hat in the ring.

LeBron James

The speculation is rampant! Where are his cars going?!?! Are the Cleveland Cavaliers fans on his lawn going to help convince him to come home?!?!

Verdict: Cleveland Cavaliers (unless he is Satan)

Carmelo Anthony

Phil Jackson said he has five offers in front of him and the New York Knicks are confident he will stay in orange and blue.

Verdict: New York Knicks (with Pau Gasol attached to his hip)

Chris Bosh

Max money from a potential title contender in his home state.

Verdict: Houston Rockets (he can’t be that dumb…right)

Chandler Parsons

He signed an offer-sheet with the Dallas Mavericks and the clock is ticking on what the Rockets can do.

Verdict: Dallas Mavericks (tick-tock Houston)

Pau Gasol

He has an array of suitors that want to bring the Spaniard in to help facilitate their offenses.

Verdict: New York Knicks (but he has thrived mostly under Phil, and Jose Calderon has him on speed dial)

There are other free agents that may make their decisions this weekend, but it is all predicated on the top two or three guys on this list. Where do you think King James ends up after the weekend?
