The Boston Bruins and free-agent D-Man Matt Bartkowski agreed to a one-year deal worth a reported $1.25 million on Monday. As a result of the contract agreement, the two sides will avoid salary arbitration.
Bartkowski, 26, became a restricted free-agent after this past season. His new deal will pay him nearly double the $650,000 he earned last season.
The two sides had an arbitration hearing set for the end of the July, but that will no longer be needed as there is no more contract dispute to settle.
Bartkowski played in 64 games for the Bruins last season. He tallied 18 assists. He didn’t score a goal. He’s actually yet to score a goal in regular season play with the team.
