The schedule listed July 31 as an off day for the Boston Red Sox. It was supposed to be a day to relax, recuperate from another series loss to an AL East opponent, and get ready for the New York Yankees to come to town.

As it turns out, July 31 was anything but an off day for Boston.

From the early morning, to right before the 4:00 pm deadline, the Red Sox were wheeling and dealing. They even made their first trade with the New York Yankees since 1997.

GM Ben Cherington and the front office made four trades, but should Red Sox Nation feel good about what happened, or should they be up in arms about their team’s fire sale?
