A very successful Week 4 and a good start this week already makes me think you should really look at my Week 5 NFL picks.

Thursday night’s game was a route as the Green Back Packers easily covered the 7.5-point spread set against the Minnesota Vikings. Now we head into this week with some momentum and a chance to move well-above .500 through the first five weeks of this season.

Here are my picks for NFL Week 5:

Chicago Bears (+2.5) at Carolina Panthers (-2.5)

Cleveland Browns (+1.5) at Tennessee Titans (-1.5)

St. Louis Rams (+6.5) at Philadelphia Eagles (-6.5)

Atlanta Falcons (+4.5) at New York Giants (-4.5)

Tampa Bay Buccaneers (+10-.5) at New Orleans Saints (-10.5)

Houston Texans (+6) at Dallas Cowboys (-6)

Buffalo Bills (+6.5) at Detroit Lions (-6.5)

Baltimore Ravens (+3) at Indianapolis Colts (-3)

Pittsburgh Steelers (-5.5) at Jacksonville Jaguars (-5.5)

Arizona Cardinals (+7.5) at Denver Broncos (-7.5)

Kansas City Chiefs (+5) at San Francisco 49ers (-5)

New York Jets (+7) at San Diego Chargers (-7)

Cincinnati Bengals (-1) at New England Patriots (+1)

Season Record: 31-28-3

Hard to see the Bears put up a less-than-average effort on offense two weeks in a row…Jake Locker is expected back for the Titans and the Browns will have trouble moving the football against the Tennessee defense…The inconsistency of the Rams scares me away from this game, so I would go with Nick Foles and that offense bouncing back in a big way after last week’s embarrassing effort against the Niners…Eli Manning has looked pretty good as of late, but the Giants will need to run the ball to beat the Falcons and keep their offense off the field. They don’t want to get into a shootout…I hate picking against the Saints at home but I am a big Mike Glennon fan and think they at least cover…Houston goes into Dallas where the club that screws up less will ultimately win in this one. I think Dallas is forced to air it out in this one and may come up short of those six points…Kyle Orton will show us what he has left against a devastating Lions pass rush and a top defense in the league. Not a great combination of words right there for Bills fans…Are the Colts actually any good on defense?…Pittsburgh should blowout the Jags in Jacksonville and look for Big Ben to have his biggest offensive day of the season…Peyton Manning off a bye week is usually a scary thing, plus another week of rest for Wes Welker can only mean good things…KC showed they can still play their game of running and passing through Jamaal Charles, but that was at Arrowhead. Levi Stadium will offer a much more difficult obstacle for this Jekyll and Hyde KC club…Beware of the back-door cover by the Jets this week, but on the west coast against one of the league’s best teams makes the Chargers a lock to at least win…The bye week helps the Bengals this week, but the Pats really need a win, especially at home. That’s why I’ll go with Cincy as New England still tries to figure out its offensive-line situation.
