The Boston College Eagles have come out to a .500 start this season and are looking to improve

The Eagles are still headed by legendary coach Jerry York. BC Eagles have won six National Championships. Hopefully this year they can add another one to the list. Their last Championship win was in 2012 when they beat Ferris State. Boston College has won the Beanpot  20 times.

BC Eagles are now ranked number 10 in the country behind: North Dakota who is currently at number one as well as their rivals Boston University is ranked 8th. BC hockey schedule can be found here.

GAME 1

In their first game of the 2017 season the Eagles were defeated by Air Force Academy by a score of 2-1. The lone goal for the eagles came from Austin Cangelosi. Cangelosi goal came as way of a penalty shot. That would mark the lat goal of the game for the Eagles. BC’s power was not very good in this game as they went 0-5.

GAME 2

Boston College Eagles second game of the year was notably better than the first as they beat Denver 3-1. Goals coming from Austin Cangelosi at 11:23 of the first period. This marked the first goal of the game. His goal was assisted by Luke McInnis, and Chris Brown. Goal two, scored by David Cotton at 14:05 of the second period. Chris Brown (2), and Michael Kim with the assists. Goal three came from Cangelosi again at 19:37 of the third period. The assists came from Ryan Fitzgerald and Micheal Kim.

GAME 3

A loss to Wisconsin of 3-1. The lone goal came from JD Dudek at 9:30 of the third Period. and assisted by Chris Calnan. Before this loss the Eagles had a seven game win streak against the Badgers. Again Special teams killed them as they were 0-6 on the power play. The Badgers were 2 for 8 on the power play.

GAME 4

Boston College rebounded well, and came back to beat the Badgers in their second game against Wisconsin, 8-5.

David Cotton opened the games scoring just 10 seconds into the game with the help from Chris Brown, and Casey Fitzgerald. The second came at 11:53 of the 1st period from Chris Brown, David Cotton, and Austin Cangelosi had the helpers. Matthew Gaudreau (brother of Johnny) scored BC’s third goal at 7:10 of the 2nd. Chris Calnan and Connor Moore with the assists.  Chris Brown scored his second and the teams fourth at 12:21 of the 2nd. Moore with the assist. Julius Mattila scored the fifth at 14:39 with the help of Gaudreau, and Calnan. Next Chris Brown completed the hat trick at 14:59, which marked the Eagles fourth unanswered goal and sixth overall. Cotton and Jesper Mattila had the assists.  The next goal came from Boston Bruins Prospect Ryan Fitzgerald at 18:39 of the 3rd. Boston Colleges final goal of the came at 19:35 of the third from Colin White and the help of R.Fitzgerald and Julius Mattila.

All of BC’s goals came during even strength play as they went 0-6 on the Power play again. If they are going to win National’s then they are going to need to get that power play going.
