New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman is unconcerned with his slow offensive start.

The scary thing about the offense of the New England Patriots is that leading receiver Julian Edelman is off to a slow start.  With the team entering Week 7 with a 5-1 record, there isn’t much to be concerned about.  However, there is some concern about Julian Edelman’s lack of production.

Part of the reason could be due to the absence of Tom Brady the first four games.  But there is some concern he is not fully recovered from a broken foot suffered towards the end of last season.

So far this season, Edelman has just 28 catches on 44 targets for 261 yards through six games.  He has yet to catch a touchdown reception and doesn’t seem completely back on the same page with Brady.  Of course, the fact that Brady has a few more offensive weapons to throw to could also be a reason for the decline in production.

In any event, Edelman says he is “feeling fine” despite being limited with the foot injury.  In fact, the focus on his lack of production could result in him having a big game against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday.  Especially if they focus primarily on the tight end duo of Rob Gronkowski and Martellus Bennett.

The Patriots wide receiver is remaining patient and knows his numbers will come.  As of now, Edelman is just focused on the team winning football games and how Brady is spreading the ball around to his other weapons.

"“That’s part of winning,” Edelman said via NESN. “You’re on a winning football team. We don’t play fantasy football, we play winning football.”"

It is also worth noting that Julian Edelman served as the team’s backup quarterback when Jimmy Garoppolo went down with a shoulder injury in Week 2.  Edelman was a big factor in the offense until Garoppolo went down.

In summary, there is nothing to worried about Patriots fans, the man known as “Minitron” will have his big games, especially with Tom Brady throwing the football.
