Once again, NBA trade rumors surround the Boston Celtics. Reports indicate the team is still interested in Paul George and Jimmy Butler.

The NBA trade deadline is February 23rd at 3PM EST. Between now and then, you will certainly hear of many rumors swirling around the Boston Celtics. Currently in 2nd place in the Eastern Conference, Boston may look to add a star in an attempt to dethrone the Cavaliers. According to The Vertical’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the Celtics are still targeting Indiana’s Paul George and Chicago’s Jimmy Butler ahead of the trade deadline. The Celtics have also been linked to the Knicks and Carmelo Anthony, but they seemingly do not wish to add him at this time.

"“Boston’s shown minimal interest in Anthony, preferring to continue its pursuit of persuading Chicago (Jimmy Butler) and Indiana (Paul George) to engage in trade talks that involve two younger, more well-rounded stars,” Wojnarowski wrote."

At 27, Jimmy Butler is averaging 24.6 points per game, 6.5 rebounds per game and 4.8 assists per game. All would be career highs if he maintains the pace for the remainder of the season.

Indiana’s Paul George has averaged 22.5 points, 6.1 rebounds and 3.3 assists this season.

A re-tinkered Boston lineup with Butler or George on the team would likely look like this:

PG – Isaiah Thomas

SG – Avery Bradley

SF – Jimmy Butler/Paul George

PF – Jae Crowder

C – Al Horford

Crowder would likely slide into the Power Forward spot, while Al Horford returns to his more comfortable spot as the Center.

Next: Avery Bradley Out

The Boston Celtics would instantly become an NBA Finals favorite in the East if they add one of these players. They may even takeover the #1 seed, passing the Cavaliers in the process.
