Boston Celtics guard Isaiah Thomas set Boston twitter ablaze Monday night with just a single tweet, of a single emoji. Could a trade be in the final stages?

Monday night, Isaiah Thomas had all Boston Celtics fans going crazy. He hadn’t put up 40 points in the Garden, he didn’t nail a game-winning three-pointer. He simply tweeted.

A cryptic tweet of a single emoji made NBA and Celtics fans go crazy with anticipation.

Isaiah tweeted out the “pair of eyes” emoji, and apparently, that means big things are in the works for the Boston Celtics.

The last time Thomas tweeted this emoji, Al Horford‘s signing was announced just hours later. With that in mind, many Celtics fans including myself believe something is coming. Perhaps the Celtics made a move for Paul George, as the Bulls seem to be holding on to Jimmy Butler.

The reactions to Thomas’ tweet were priceless.

More from Boston Celtics

Celtics fans all across the United States are hoping for a huge trade before Thursday’s deadline. Jimmy Butler has become the sun lately, as all talks seem to swirl around him. It’s believed however that the Chicago Bulls will hold on to the All Star forward. Paul George may be a more likely candidate.

The Celtics have also expressed interest in forward P.J. Tucker. The move would not be of the caliber that many fans are hoping for. Some would be extremely disappointed, as Tucker would not turn the Celtics into an NBA title contender.

Later in the night rumors swirled that it would be Carmelo Anthony coming to Boston. The rumor began when Bluejays pitcher Marcus Stroman tweeted this:

The rumors have since been shot down time and time again.

Even later in the night, Isaiah Thomas posted a photo to Instagram from the NBA All Star game. Fans were hoping it was another sign of things to come, and that the arm in the photo that Isaiah is embracing was Butler’s or George’s. However, this was not the case.

Perhaps Isaiah Thomas does know of a pending trade the Boston Celtics have made. Maybe the tweet means nothing. Let’s all hope that the Celtics have made a big time move to contend for a title.
