There is still a chance that Kyrie Irving returns to the Boston Celtics, but do fans even want him back on the team?

The narrative surrounding Kyrie Irving is changing in the Boston Celtics favor. One of the most coveted players in the NBA may struggle to find a home this offseason.

Irving seemed as good as gone. His terrible performance in the NBA playoffs made it a near certainty that he was headed to New York to play at Madison Square Garden or go back to LeBron James in LA.

Now things don’t look great for Kyrie Irving.

Teams are now growing concerned of Kyrie and his ability to be a leader of a team. Team’s feel that he can’t win on his own.

Now this should be great news for Boston Celtics fans. It sounds more and more like Irving will be coming back to Boston in the fall. But maybe the C’s are better off without Irving?

Without Kyrie Irving the Celtics were one win away from the NBA finals in the 2017-18 season. Last season the C’s got handled easily by the Milwaukee Bucks with both Gordon Hayward and Irving on the floor.

A good chunk of Boston Celtics fans don’t want Kyrie Irving back. The view him as a locker room cancer that tears anything in his path apart.

The Celtics need to start focusing on their young core. Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown deserve to get the keys to the car. This is the future of your team. If you commit to these guys you could keep them in Boston for the rest of their careers.

The Kyrie Irving experiment is more than likely going to be a failure. A team that seemed guaranteed to make the finals failed to in two straight seasons. What once seemed like a match made in heaven is headed to splitsville.
