Here’s advice for the New England Patriots on their quarterback situation: go big or go home.

Middling measures will be a total failure. The New England Patriots’ future is on the clock, and first and foremost their future depends on their quarterback decision-making.

They need to make a big, and good decision, or the future of the franchise is dire. Can they make the right decision? Let’s explore three avenues available that actually make sense.

1. New England Patriots trade whatever it takes for one of two top, proven NFL quarterbacks.

It makes sense for the Patriots to go all-in on a proven NFL quarterback. The best of these is Deshaun Watson of Houston.

Three first-round picks and more picks? Absolutely. (They draft terribly anyway, no great loss.) These picks plus a top payer or two, fine. Whatever it takes? Absolutely.

There’s really no limit to what the New England Patriots should fork over to get him. None. (And Nick Caserio their old personnel director is their new GM. Perfect.)

Watson is worth the kitchen sink, cabinets, refrigerator the whole kit, and caboodle. If that deal is available, there is no price the New England Patriots should not be willing to pay to get him.

First, he’s great. Second, he’s young. Third, he’s experienced. Fourth, a team can win it all with Watson at the helm. What’s not to like about him? He’s the foundation stone. Go for it.

The other option mentioned previously is Russell Wilson of Seattle. All of the above can equally be said about Wilson, except he’s not so young. Yet, he’s not very older either. If he’s the one available, just make the deal.
