The Boston Bruins had the heart of their team return and a scoring outburst ensued.

It seems that the Boston Bruins had been in a funk as of late. On Thursday night they moved in the right direction defeating the Vancouver Canucks 6-3. The Canucks are definitely not a great team but with the rough start to the season every game has seemed to be a toss-up.

As the cliche goes a win is a win.

In his season debut, Patrice Bergeron seemed to not miss a beat. Bergeron recorded 3 assists and his first goal of the season on Thursday. It was also a special night for him as he played in his 900th NHL game.

The Bruins let up the first goal of the game but then the Bruins offense exploded.

Anders Bjork scored two goals to extend his season total to three. He had an easy tap-in off a rebound to score his first goal of the game then on the power play he blasted one past Anders Nilsson.

The Bruins powerplay was on fire tonight overall.  After an ugly hit on Frank Vatrano, Erik Gudbranson received a major for boarding and the Bruins went on to score three goals on the powerplay including this filthy goal from David Pastrnak.

Now that is why the Bruins paid the man. Pastrnak in open ice is a dangerous man and his hands are amazing.  The goal was Pastrnak’s 4th of the season.

The Bruins continued the scoring in the 2nd period with Brad Marchand wristing one past Canucks goalie Jacob Markstrom who came into replace Nilsson after his horrible 1st period. The goal was also Marchand’s 4th of the season.

Anton Khudobin had a solid performance in net stopping 26 out of 29 shots. The issue throughout the season has been the amount of goals the team is giving up. In five out of six games this season the Bruins have given up 3 or more goals. The defense needs to step up their play cause the offense isn’t always going to show up like they did tonight.

The win is Khudobin’s 2nd of the season and he will be playing a lot more as Goalie Tuukka Rask has been diagnosed with a concussion and will be out indefinitely.
