Boston Bruins: The B’s are headed to game 7

The Boston Bruins have been unable to finish off the Maple Leafs. They had yet another opportunity to do so on Monday night but were unsuccessful.
This is exactly what Boston Bruins fans didn’t want to happen. It would be a lot easier to sleep on Monday night knowing that the Bruins had already advanced to the next round of the playoffs. It seems like this Bruins want to test our hearts once again. The Bruins are heading to game 7 where quite literally anything is possible.
The unsung rookie
Jake DeBrusk has been one of the best players in the entire series. He was overshadowed by Danton Heinen, Riley Nash, and the Bruins first line throughout the season. When the Bruins acquired Rick Nash this happened once again. When Ryan Donato arrived people started saying Jake who? DeBrusk has become a much better player as the season has progressed.
DeBrusk scored the first and only goal for the Bruins on Monday night. He launched a wrist shot through traffic and the puck was able to find its way to the back of the net. The goal was his 3rd of the series and puts him one goal behind Bruins playoff goal leader David Pastrnak.

DeBrusk has become a player that the Bruins can rely on and they will definitely need him in a pivotal game 7 on Wednesday night.
Tuukka Rask kept the Boston Bruins in the game
Tuukka Rask made 27 saves on Monday night and had a much better outing compared to his performance on Saturday. Rask cannot be blamed for the two goals he allowed. We will get to whose to blame in a second.
Rask made some insane saves in the 3rd period. Some saves that reminded me of Tim Thomas in 2011. His best save of the night came on Auston Matthews. The center was driving straight towards Rask, but Tuukka dove out and used the paddle of his stick to make the insane save.
Rask did what he needed to do on Monday night, but it wasn’t enough. If he can replicate this performance on Wednesday night the Bruins will have a good chance to advance to the next round.
The Boston Bruins defense can’t crack the code
I don’t know what it is about the Toronto Maple Leafs, but they make the Bruins defense look like trash. The defenses inability to clear the net, as well as the zone, lead to both of the Bruins goals. It seems whenever the Bruins improve in one area the Leafs find a new weakness to attack.
If the Bruins want to have a chance to move on the defense needs to play much better.
I have to admit that I am nervous going into Wednesday’s game. This team is so young and this will be a good chunk of the teams first game 7, but this team has been able to pull off some amazing comebacks.

So even if I may not fully believe it I will speak it into existence. On Wednesday night the Boston Bruins will be walking through the handshake line with smiles on their face as they will be moving on to face the Tampa Bay Lightning.
