Boston Celtics: Jayson Tatum came down to Earth in Game 4

For the first time in a long time, Boston Celtics rookie Jayson Tatum played like a 19-year-old.

Game 4 was supposed to be the turn around game for the Boston Celtics. Instead, it was another loss. Celtics fans were hoping that their rookie sensation could turn everything around, but Game 4 was one of Jayson Tatum’s worst games as a member of the Celtics.

Tatum did score 17 points, but it was quite possibly the worst 17 point game you could have. He had the worse rating of the night (-14). Tatum struggled to finish at the rim and just had a rough game. This stat just tells you how rough it was for Tatum and the Celtics on Monday night.

Even though Tatum didn’t play his best it was still a solid game for a rookie playing in his first Eastern Conference Finals. Tatum had an incredible season. In his rookie year, he averaged 13.9 points and 5 rebounds a game.

On to the next one

The series is all squared, and it is a whole new ballgame. Tatum seems to be mature beyond his years. After the game, he seemed to be focused on the next game, and not dwelling on Game 4. The Celtics motto is now that they are in a three-game series.

Even though it has been a rough two games for the Celtics there are still reasons to be confident. The Celtics have been dominant at home, and I would expect the C’s to have a bounce-back effort in Game 5. The Garden Faithful will be cheering them on and I expect the C’s to be reenergized.

I would also expect Tatum to have a much better effort in game 5. He has proven this season that he is a special player. Tatum is up for the Rookie of the Year award. He has made big shots and has taken over games.

Jayson Tatum may have looked like a rookie in Game 4 but he will hopefully return to form in Game 5.
