The New England Patriots played amazing in Week 4. These 3 players had great games and led New England to victory.
The New England Patriots needed to win in Week 4. It was as simple as that.
If the Patriots lost they would have been down 3 games to the Miami Dolphins in the AFC East and in a hole they probably couldn’t get out of. Thankfully we don’t have to think about that anymore.
The Patriots destroyed the Dolphins so bad they probably won’t be the same. This was definitely the Pats best effort of the season.

New England got production from all over the roster. New players like Josh Gordon and John Simon have made an immediate impact.
If Cordarrelle Patterson is scoring 55-yard touchdowns, you are going to have a good day.
The Patriots defense also finally showed up. You really saw the impact of having Patrick Chung and Trey Flowers on the field. The defense looked completely different.
New England actually had a pass rush and Dont’a Hightower looked like he learned how to run again.
The Dolphins struggled running the ball and the secondary controlled the passing game. It was a complete effort from the defense all around.
Also, undrafted rookie J.C. Jackson made a statement. Jackson secured the first interception of his career on a great play. Jackson stayed with his defender and made a quality catch.
So with that in mind let’s take a look at the 3 stars from the New England Patriots win in Week 4.

1. Sony doesn’t suck
Wow, look at that. Sony Michel is actually a great running back.
Plenty of people were writing off Michel as a bust. The rookie proved his doubters wrong on Sunday.
Michel had a great game. He carried the ball 25 times and had 112 yards and scored his first rushing touchdown. Michel announced his arrival in Week 4.
When you watch Michel run you can see his potential. Michel is a patient back. He waits to let the blocks develop and then finds the hole.
Also, Michel can just run through people. He must bath his jersey in oil because opposing players seem to have issues taking him down. Defenders seem to just slip off of Michel.
In Week 4 Michel was a much more dominant runner and looked like he belonged. If the Patriots offensive line can continue to do well, Sony Michel could have a great rookie season.

2. Mr. Dependable
It seems like Tom Brady has one guy he can rely on no matter the situation this season, James White. White always manages to find open space and can also run the ball. When everything falls apart, Brady can rely on White to make a play.

White has been one of the Patriots best players this season and was the star of Week 4. White had 8 carries for 44 yards and a touchdown and he also had 8 catches for 68 yards and a touchdown.
White’s skills have gone under the radar. He has been overshadowed by LeGarrette Blount and Dion Lewis in the past. Now that White is one of the main backs, it is hard to deny his skill.
White is slated to have a career year. As long as Tom Brady continues to target White he will continue to put up some nice numbers.
Just like Tom Brady, we can all rely on James White to save the day.

3. Phillip Dorsett
Surprisingly one of the Patriots best receivers this season has been Phillip Dorsett.
With Julian Edelman suspended the Patriots have had to rely on some unorthodox names. May I remind you of Cordarrele Patterson?
Dorsett had a quality game on Sunday. He had 4 catches for 55 yards and a touchdown.
His touchdown catch was amazing. Dorsett fully extended and I don’t know if he was trying to, but Dorsett ended up doing in a somersault.
On his other catches, Dorsett did all the little things. When he caught the ball he always found a way to get the extra yard. Those are the types of things that get you in Tom Brady’s good graces.
Now when Julian Edelman comes back Dorsett’s targets will probably decrease a little, but I think he has earned Tom Brady’s trust.
Hopefully, the New England Patriots can turnaround and secure another victory on Thursday night against the Indianapolis Colts.
