The New England Patriots have plenty of great players who deserve a Pro Bowl nomination.
The Pro Bowl may be the worst all-star game in the 4 major sports. Still, it is an honor to make it on the roster. There are definitely some players on the New England Patriots that should be headed to Orlando.
The NFL has really messed up the game. It seems like players don’t even want to play in the game. It is a glorified flag football game. Gone are the days of Sean Taylor lighting up players in the Pro Bowl.

Still, there are plenty of players on the Patriots that deserve to make it on to the roster. The Patriots are getting some great performances from some great players.
This season has been unique for the Patriots. The team hasn’t been as dominant as they have in the past. It seems like the team might be in a transitional phase.
Somehow New England still has a great chance to make it to the Super Bowl. They are at the top of the AFC and with the Kansas City Chiefs losing one of their best players in Kareem Hunt, New England has a good chance of getting a first-round bye.
The Patriots wouldn’t be in this position without some great performances from some special players this season.
So here are 5 New England Patriots that should be headed to the Pro Bowl this season.
1. Tom Brady
You can basically pencil in Tom Brady for the Pro Bowl until he retires. He has earned a permanent spot on the team.

Fans probably won’t see Tom Brady play in Orlando. He seems to never play in the game because he is in the Super Bowl. The last time Brady played in a Pro Bowl was in 2004.
Brady is having a mediocre season for his standards. He has only thrown 3,342 yards and 20 touchdowns.
Still, Brady’s reputation proceeds him. The quarterback deserves to be on the Pro Bowl roster. Maybe if the Patriots somehow don’t make it to the Super Bowl he will even play in the game.
If Brady was to make it to the Pro Bowl it would be his 14th nomination. He would be tied with 4 other players for the most appearances in a career. I think I know Tom Brady well so he will probably go for the record.
2. James White
James White has been the Patriots best player on offense this season. He has been absolutely amazing for New England.
White hasn’t earned a Pro Bowl nomination yet in his career. He will definitely earn his first this season.
I don’t know what the Patriots would do without James White. Tom Brady has been able to rely on White a lot. When the Patriots need to get a first down, Brady can toss the ball to White and let him work his magic.
White has had a career year for the Patriots. He has 74 catches 659 yards and 6 touchdowns. White also has 76 carries for 329 yards and 4 touchdowns. All of these stats are career highs for the running back.
I’m pretty confident that we will be seeing White get his first Pro Bowl nomination this season, but New England Patriots fans are hoping we won’t see him play because the Patriots will be in the Super Bowl.
3. Trey Flowers
Trey Flowers has been dominant this season. He has been one of the New England Patriots best players on the field.
Flowers has been causing chaos on nearly every play. He is an amazing pass rusher who is always in the backfield. Without Flowers, the Patriots would be in a rough position.
So far this season Flowers has 4.5 sacks and 40 tackles. Those numbers may not jump off the page, but they don’t tell the whole story.
Flowers should be a Pro Bowler because of how dominant of a player is. He makes amazing plays every Sunday.
He single-handedly is the Patriots pass rush. We saw how the Patriots front seven looked without Flowers, it wasn’t pretty.

If Flowers was to get the Pro Bowl bid it would be the first of his career, but I definitely think this won’t be the last time he makes the team. Trey Flowers is going to be a dominant defensive player for years to come.
4. Sony Michel
Sony Michel may have had a shorter season due to injury, but he has played some amazing football. When you add in the fact that he is a rookie it is even more impressive.
Michel has really taken over the Patriots running game. This is a big task for a rookie, but Michel hasn’t faltered.
In 9 games this season, Michel has 144 carries for 649 yards and 5 touchdowns. Imagine if Michel is able to reach 1000 yards after missing 4 games? That is nothing to scoff at. If Michel played a whole season he may have reached 1500 yards rushing.
Michel has quickly shown that he was worth the 1st round draft pick. He should be a mainstay in the Patriots offense for years to come.
Sony Michel has had the quite the start to his NFL career. I can’t imagine a better cherry on top than to make the Pro Bowl (well winning a Super Bowl wouldn’t be bad either).
5. Stephon Gilmore
Just like Trey Flowers, Stephon Gilmore is one of the best players on the Patriots defense. Gilmore has been a lockdown corner this season.
The cornerback has proven that he was worth the risk that the Patriots took. He has gone up against opposing teams top receivers and hasn’t struggled.
Gilmore has 2 interceptions a fumble recovery and 37 tackles this season. Also like Flowers, this doesn’t tell the whole story.
“Gilly” can have opposing quarterbacks afraid to throw at him. He can take guys out of games. That doesn’t show up in the stats.
I think Gilmore deserves the honor. He has had one of his best seasons. This would be his 2nd Pro Bowl of his career.
All of these 5 players have been great for the New England Patriots. Hopefully, they all make it to the Pro Bowl and are unable to play because the Patriots will be in their 3rd straight Super Bowl.
