Boston Celtics big man Enes Kanter is already establishing himself as a fan favorite and an admirer of one of Boston Sports most celebrated athletes.

Boston Celtics fans are going to love the personality of newly signed center Enes Kanter and the big man is going to love Boston.

From barking back at Boston Sports hater Nick Wright to taking jabs at the old No. 11 Kyrie Irving, Kanter is fitting in just fine with his new team off the court.  While on the court he is considered a downgrade from Al Horford due to his suspect defense, his personality is much louder than Horford’s and it could be a good thing.

But, beyond all things that are basketball related, Enes Kanter appears like an athlete who appreciates sports in general and he has certainly found the right city.

Speaking to the media in a press conference Wednesday, the new No. 11 made a request aimed at the man who wears No. 12…for the New England Patriots.

That’s right, Kanter further snoozed his way into the hearts of Boston sports fans by professing his admiration for one Tom Brady.

"“I’m actually a very big fan of Tom Brady,” Kanter said, as transcribed by WEEI.  “I actually want to meet him, but I wasn’t going to say in a press conference.  I was like, ‘Should I do it or not?’  But I’m definitely a big fan of him.  I would love to meet him.  What he does on and off the (field) it’s amazing.  For not just football, for sports.  So I’m definitely – so if he’s listening right now, I want to meet you, my man.”"

It’s a sure bet Enes Kanter will get his wish.

While Tom Brady is not seen at the TD Garden taking in a game, he has definitely been involved with the team.  Not only did he recently feature Jayson Tatum in a Patriots hype video, he made the trip to the Hamptons way back when to help recruit Kevin Durant to the Boston Celtics during his first free agency sweepstakes tour.

Now, that didn’t quite work out for the C’s, but they were close.

Not to say that Tom Brady is the reason Enes Kanter signed with the Celtics, but the admiration he has for the star quarterback was expressed immediately.  So, when they do meet, hopefully that inspiration and impact on winning rubs off on a player who spent most of the last couple of seasons playing with the New York Knicks.

Kanter did get a taste of winning during his brief stint with the Portland Trail Blazers, but it is nothing like playing in the winning atmosphere that is the city of Boston.

Next. Boston Celtics: Vincent Poirier addition should not be undervalued. dark

With star athletes across all the four major sports teams, the Boston Celtics new center will no doubt find himself in the mix of cross sports camaraderie.  As taking in a Boston Red Sox game at Fenway Park is also on his check list, that meeting with Tom Brady should be the first wish to come true.

Welcome to the city of champions Enes Kanter.
