3. Matthew Slater

There isn’t a lot of chances to write about Matthew Slater. He is strictly a special teams player. But on Sunday he had an amazing game.

The Patriots offense didn’t score a ton in Week 4. Brandon Bolden was the only offensive player to get into the end zone. That meant that New England had to get scoring from some different parts of the team.

Now Matthew Slater is known for making great tackles and stopping the ball just in time on punts, but scoring TD’s isn’t really his thing. On Sunday that all changed.

Slater recovered a blocked punt and took it to the house. It was the first touchdown of his 12 year NFL career.

It was a cool moment to see. You could tell just how excited Slater was to finally get in the end zone.

Knowing the Patriots we will have a completely different list of stars after Week 5.
