On Monday afternoon the Boston Bruins were cooking and they dominated the Anaheim Ducks in a 4-2 victory.

Monday was a treat for Boston Bruins fans. They got to see their team play a bit earlier than usual and they didn’t disappoint. I bet a lot of people headed out to celebrate after the game.

The Boston Bruins have yet to lose a game at home and are absolutely rolling right now. If they play like this it will be impossible for the team to not make it back to the Stanley Cup Finals.

Clearly, there is no Stanly Cup hangover. Boston might even be playing better than they did last season. Maybe the sadness of losing a Game 7 is motivating this team to play at a level we haven’t seen before?

The Ducks are not a bad team either. They have gotten off to a great start this season and have a good group of guys. They definitely tested Boston on Monday but the Bruins were still able to pull off the 4-2 victory.

It seems that every player on Boston’s roster is having an impact. It’s insane how much talent the Bruins have.

When you take into account Boston’s young guns down in the AHL they are even better. The Providence Bruins could probably be a decent NHL team with their roster this year.

So there is definitely a lot to talk about but let’s look at the 3 major takeaways from Boston’s 4-2 win on Monday afternoon over the Anaheim Ducks.

1. David Pastrnak might score 50 goals

Sometimes it has taking David Pastrnak a while to get his scoring going. So far this season Pastrnak hasn’t had any issues putting the puck in the net.

Prior to Monday’s game, Pastrnak had 2 goals in 5 games. That number would increase by a lot more. Pastrnak scored 4 goals against the Ducks.

It is just insane how easy things are for Pastrnak and the Bruins first line. It is like men playing with 5th graders out there.

We also got to see Pastrnak’s patented one timer slap shot for one of his goals. It seems whenever he launches one it is bound to go in.

The fact that Pastrnak already has 6 goals means that this could be a historic season for the winger. I honestly think that Pastrnak could score 50 goals. As long as he doesn’t go through a slump there is no stopping David Pastrnak.

2. Jaroslav Halak is so good

Every time I see Jaroslav Halak in net for the Boston Bruins I have to pinch myself. How did the team end up with such a talented goaltending unit?

Usually, when you start a backup goalie you are nervous. With Halak in net there is nothing to worry about.

Monday was just another example of how great Halak is. He had another outstanding game and stopped 30 shots against the Ducks.

It seems that every night that Halak makes a save that has you jumping out of your seat. He is definitely one of the best free agent signings that the team has made in recent history.

Having a backup like Halak helps your team out a lot. They don’t have to run out Rask every single game. They can share responsibility and this ensures that Tuukka Rask is well rested for the playoffs.

The Boston Bruins are so lucky to have a goalie like Jaroslav Halak on their roster.

3. The Boston Bruins are showing up on time

A lot of Boston’s struggles last season could be traced back to one problem. The team would struggle early on and couldn’t dig themselves out of the hole they built in the 1st period of games.

It would be like the Bruins got all the energy sucked out of them. They looked like a completely different team.

This season something that has been noticeable is how Boston has gotten off to amazing starts.  10 of the Bruins 16 goals came in the 1st period.

Again if Boston wants to be succesful they need to continue to do this. They can not let their foot off the gas pedal.

Now the Bruins get a slight break as they don’t have their next game until Thursday. That game will definitely be one that you want to watch. The Tampa Bay Lightning come to town and this will be a game that will show if Boston can hang with the big boys.
