Patrice Bergeron has played a long time for the Boston Bruins and his lines have been quite amazing.
We have seen a lot of players come through the Boston Bruins organization. But some players have made Boston their home.
One of these guys is Patrice Bergeron. He has become a face of the franchise with his success over the years. The Bruins don’t like to retire numbers, but it would be hard not to recognize Bergeron’s efforts with the team. Bergeron represents everything that a Boston Bruin should be.

The prove of this is Bergeron’s four Selke awards. He isn’t just a quality goalscorer he is also great at making defensive plays. Bergeron is truly a complete player. Every player should aspire to be like Bergy.
Bergeron has played in over 1,000 games and has 352 goals and 517 assists. He is approaching the top of franchise leaderboards for points, goals, and assists in his career. He is in the top five in goals and assists but sixth in points.
Also if Bergeron keeps playing as he has been he might play the most games in a Bruins uniform than any other player. His career is truly something to be marveled at.
With such a long career, Bergeron has played with some amazing players over the year. Some of his lines have produced some amazing numbers. So let’s take a look back at some of the best lines that Bergeron has been apart of.

Patrice Bergeron-Glen Murray-Marco Sturm
One of the first great lines that Bergeron was a part of was when he linked up with Glen Murray and Marco Sturm.
Murray had a lengthy career and spent most of it in Boston. In ten seasons he had 209 goals and 180 assists. He was the perfect guy for Bergeron to set up goal-scoring opportunities.
Sturm on the other hand made a quick pitstop in Boston. He only played five seasons in Boston but sure made them count. He had 106 goals and 87 assists wearing a Bruins uniform.
It was a shame that this line never had any playoff success but they sure did well. Even at a young age, Bergeron got to play with some great players.
This shows how much the Bruins trusted and believed in him. Also, it shows how well respected he was by his teammates.
But this was just the beginning for Bergeron. He got to play with some absolute legends as his career progressed.

Patrice Bergeron-Brad Marchand-Mark Recchi
This was a line combination that many will remember. This was Bergeron’s line when the Bruins won the Stanley Cup.
Bergeron had an amazing playoff performance. He had six goals and 14 assists with a personal rating of +15.

This line also featured a young Brad Marchand. It needs to be said that this Marchand wasn’t the goal scorer that we were used to seeing. This was Marchand’s first full season in the NHL. He had quite the postseason as well putting up 11 goals and 8 assists.
Of course, the story between Marchand and Bergeron keeps going. We will get back to that.
Then there was Mark Recchi. He brought the leadership and veteran knowledge that put Boston over the edge. He had already won two Stanley Cups prior to joining the Bruins.
This line gave Bergeron his first Stanley Cup. He then knew just how hard it was to get there and could use that experience to help lead other groups of players back to the promised land.

Patrice Bergeron-Brad Marchand-Tyler Seguin
This line was probably one of the most skilled lines that Bergeron had ever played on. Marchand was coming into his own and young stud Tyler Seguin was added to the mix.
Seguin was a hyped-up prospect who added a ton of skill to the Bruins. In his first full season with Boston, he had 29 goals and 38 assists. That’s impressive for a 20-year-old.
The 2011-12 season was also a special one for Bergeron. He would win the first Selke award of his career and also had an outstanding +36 personal rating.
The Bruins once again made it into the playoffs but this time they weren’t as successful. The Washington Capitals ended up beating the B’s and knocked them out in the 1st round.
It would have been interesting to see what Seguin and that first line could have done if he wasn’t traded. It seems that the move has worked out for both sides. Now the Bruins are reaping the benefits of having David Pastrnak.
Before we get to Bergeron’s current linemates we have to talk about another Czech legend.

Patrice Bergeron-Jaromir Jagr-Brad Marchand
As it has been mentioned Bergeron has played with some legends of the game, none will top his opportunity to play with Jaromir Jagr. Jagr is a humongous star. He is one of the best players to ever lace up skates.

Jagr had an amazing career. He played in more than 1,700 games and racked up 766 goals and 1,155 assists. Jagr also ended up with two Stanley Cups and was an eight-time All-Star.
Jagr almost won a Stanley Cup in Boston. He was apart of the 2012-13 team that made a Stanley Cup run. Sadly the Bruins were not successful. We had our hearts ripped out as they lost in brutal fashion to the BlackHawks in game seven of the Stanley Cup Finals
Jagr did okay in the postseason. The problem was he couldn’t score. He racked up 10 assists but zero goals.
Still, it’s hard to complain seeing that Jagr was 40 years old at the time. The fact that he was able to contribute in any fashion is rather impressive.
Jagr will likely go down as the best player that Bergeron has been paired with but that could change. Especially if Pastrnak is able to continue to play as he did this season.

Patrice Bergeron-Brad Marchand-David Pastrnak
Now we get to the line that we are blessed to see right now. The top line for the Bruins has been amazing these past few seasons.
This past two seasons, the top line has combined for almost 500 points. They have been the driving force behind Boston’s success.
At times the team has been too top-heavy. Last season they relied on the first line a lot and that might have led to their downfall. This season the Bruins are a much deeper team.
Still, when the Bruins return to the ice for their first game they will need their first line to show up. It’s likely that they rely on Pastrnak.
But Bergeron is Mr.Reliable. Whenever he is playing you know he will have a solid performance. Just having Bergeron on the ice makes the Bruins a better team.
Hopefully, Bergeron will be able to add another Stanley Cup to his resume before he retires. There’s no doubt that he is a Bruins legend but he also deserves his spot in the NHL Hall of Fame. It would be stunning if his number wasn’t retired in Boston once his career is over
So as you can see, Bergeron has played on some stellar lines over his career.
