With Thanksgiving approaching, it’s time to recognize three Boston Celtics players that we are appreciative of heading into the new season.

Usually, we would be watching the Boston Celtics play around this time, but 2020 has been far from the norm. Celtics fans will have to wait as the 2020-21 season has yet to start, but that doesn’t mean that we can’t appreciate some of our favorite players.

The Celtics had a successful 2020, but fans will be hoping for more in the upcoming season. Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum are locked up and won’t be leaving Boston anytime soon.

More from Chowder and Champions

Boston also has some solid veteran leadership with Kemba Walker. Hopefully, he will be able to stay healthy this season. The Celtics also made moves to improve in this area of the game with the team acquiring Jeff Teague and Tristan Thompson.

It might seem hard to believe, but it seems as though the Celtics have improved prior to the start of the season. They seem to have more depth and Tatum and Brown continue to grow.

If last season’s squad was able to make it to the Eastern Conference Finals, what can this group accomplish? Can they make it to the NBA Finals?

No matter what happens next season, Celtics fans are very thankful to have these three players on the roster.

Boston Celtics: 3 players to be thankful for in 2020 – No.3: Marcus Smart

Celtics fans will always love Marcus Smart. He epitomes what it means to be a Celtic.

Smart just plays the game the right way. He gives 110 percent and gives his all on defense. He is able to enter the game off the bench and instantly energize this team.

Also, we have seen Smart grow on offense. In 2020 he became a much better shooter and displayed so down in the bubble. If Smart can continue to perform as he did, he will be a great option off the bench.

When it comes to Celtics players that fans are thankful for, Smart is one of the first names that you think of.
