Analyzing the Jacksonville Jaguars offense, eh?

This is going to be a really short article.

Just kidding. When Bill Belichick makes it a point to mention that “We spent a lot of time on Jacksonville” and that “I’ve seen probably well over half their season from last year, from 2014,” even though Jacksonville hasn’t even notched a dozen wins since the AFC East played the AFC South in 2012, the Patriots clearly need to devote just as much time to the Jags as they do to anyone else, or else they run the risk of getting upset by some of the new kids on the block.

The logo on the helmets may be the same, but these Jaguars aren’t the same crew that took Blaine Gabbert in the first round, and then took a punter in the third the year after.  Despite some truly disastrous drafting (who could have seen Justin Blackmon partying his way out of the league by 25?), the Jaguars have pieced together a young core group on the offensive side of the ball that came out swinging against Free Agency Champion Miami last weekend.  Jacksonville went heavy on the offensive side of the ball in the 2014 draft – their first four picks in ’14 went to offensive players, and then in the 2015 draft, they added another kid with the potential to replace a running back that’s arguably the franchise’s most well-known player.

Let’s start there.
