10 Patriots Playing Their Way Out of New England's 2025 Plans

2. Chuks Okorafor
"Playing" his way out of New England might not be appropriate for Okorafor, who has not played since Week 1. Okorafor was signed in March from the Pittsburgh Steelers on a one-year, $4 million deal.
After the Patriots front office botched managing the offensive line unit this past offseason, Okorafor entered the season as New England's starting left tackle. Unfortunately, that role was short lived as the seven-year veteran was benched after only 12 snaps.
Okorafor was placed on the exempt/left Squad list on Sept. 14 as he was reportedly "contemplating his future in football." He was moved to the reserve/left squad list on Sept. 19. The move to the reserve/left squad list rendered Okorafor as ineligible to return this season.
Okorafor won't play a snap for the Patriots again. The bigger question at this point – will he play a snap of professional football again? If Okorafor does hang up the cleats at 27 years old, he will have played 78 games with 60 starts in the NFL.
