12 Former Red Sox Available in Free Agency
By Ryan Bunton
10. Tommy Pham
Journeyman outfielder Tommy Pham could add another jersey to his collection this offseason as a free agent. Pham has already appeared for nine different franchises in his 11-year career, including a 2022 stint with the Boston Red Sox.
Pham's stint with the Sox wasn't particularly eventful, as he only played 53 games for the club after he was acquired from the Cincinnati Reds at the trade deadline. Pham hit .234/.298/.374 with six home runs and 24 RBI during that cup of coffee in Boston.
The most notable event of his 2022 season was when he slapped Joc Pederson of the San Francisco Giants on the field prior to a game in May (while Pham was still with the Reds) over an apparent fantasy football disagreement. Pham was suspended three games and fined $5,000.
Pham played for three MLB clubs in 2024 – the Chicago White Sox, St. Louis Cardinals, and Kansas City Royals. The 36-year-old played 70 games for Chicago and 23 games each for St. Louis and Kansas City. Across those 116 games, Pham hit .248/.305/.368 with nine home runs and 39 RBI.
