2014 Year in Review: April Edition

Remy returns to the NESN booth

Jerry Remy had left the NESN broadcast booth in August of 2013 after reports that his son Jared Remy had murdered his girlfriend Jennifer Martel. In a joint decision by the Red Sox and Remy they decided that he would not rejoin the broadcast booth for the season, so as the season opener crept closer and closer their was anticipation for Remy’s return. Remy expressed his concern and fear that fans may not embrace him or his decision to return to the booth for the 2014 season, in an interview with WEEI’s “Dennis and Callahan” show he voiced his understanding for those fans who were upset, “I understand that and I expected that. I knew for a long time that there was a story that was going to come out that was not going to be kind to us by any means, but that was all taken into consideration before I made my decision back in February that I was going to come back.”
