2014 Year in Review: August Edition

Le’Veon Bell/LeGarrette Blount arrested for marijuana

On August 20^th, 2014 former Patriots RB LeGarrette Blount and current Steelers running back Le’Veon Bell were arrested for marijuana charges while driving. On that afternoon, during a routine traffic stop the officer noticed a strong odor and when posed about the smell Blount, Bell, and the female passenger in the car all admitted and claimed ownership of the drugs. Coach Mike Tomlin told reporters that the issue was dealt with internally and that the two would not miss any playing time because of the impending charges. Bell and Blount would go on to get regular snaps as the preseason concluded and the regular season started up, however Blount was released in mid-October after reports of him being upset about playing time cause him to walk off the field during a Monday Night Football game. Days later the New England Patriots signed him and he returned to New England that week.
