By the time November rolled around for the Boston Bruins, they were hoping that a new month would produce new results as the month of October was a heart aching one. The Bruins had trouble getting above .500 throughout the entire month, they eventually finished October going 6-6 and on top of that they lost two of their biggest stars to injury. In the Bruins final preseason game, star center David Krejci pulled his groin and has had trouble making a full recovery. Krejci missed the first three games of the season, but was able to play the next nine games before sitting out a handful of games. In November Krejci played a handful of games before being shut down to get to full health, he finally made his return in early December and has played more frequently. During November the Bruins also missed Zdeno Chara who was injured in an October 23rd game against the Islanders, tearing his PCL in the game. With the absence of Chara the Bruins defenseman had to step up in order to replace the veterans play, and while guys like Dennis Seidenberg, Dougie Hamilton, and Matt Bartkowski had to shoulder most of that responsibility the Bruins still managed to exceed expectations in the month of November. The Bruins in the month of November went 8-4, picking up wins against the Senators, Devils, and Blues, and proved that even when they are missing some of their biggest stars, they are still a dangerous team to compete against.
