In 2005, the Patriots were coming off back-to-back Super Bowl Championships and were looking to do the seemingly impossible: a trio of Super Bowls. However, in a Week 3 matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers, the Patriots starting left tackle Matt Light suffered a broken leg and ending his season prematurely.

We talk all the time on the C&C Podcast about the importance of a strong offensive line and how they can dictate how successful a quarterback performs throughout the season. Well with the loss of Matt Light the Patriots offensive line took a major hit and you can easily claim that the injury to Matt Light was a major reason why the Patriots were unable to go for a third straight championship.
