The Boston Celtics returned from their brief road trip, hoping to extend their winning streak to four games. Unfortunately, after three straight wins against the Atlanta Hawks, Oklahoma City Thunder, and Houston Rockets, the Celtics fell to the Dallas Mavericks 106-102 on Wednesday night.

Isaiah Thomas led the Celtics with 19 points on 7/16 shooting, while dishing six assists. Avery Bradley added 18 points and went 3/5 from deep in 31 minutes off the bench. Dirk Nowitzki led all scorers with 23 points on 9/14 shooting and grabbed 7 rebounds in 34 minutes.

With the Mavericks ahead 102-95 with 30 seconds left, it appeared that the Celtics were undoubtedly on their way to defeat, but Jae Crowder scored five points in a matter of seconds.

The Celtics fouled Raymond Felton—usually a strong free throw shooter—who missed both attempts. Bradley came away with the rebound and passed it to Thomas, but Isaiah lost the ball over after making a nice move to get past Felton.
