Running Backs

Grade: C-

The loss of Dion Lewis continues to hurt the Patriots offense, as James White has not been productive as a receiving back, and LeGarrette Blount has shown that he cannot be depended on as the featured running back.

Blount only ran for 27 yards on nine carries, and James White and Brandon Bolden combined for 11 yards on 7 carries. The Patriots have no run game right now. They are only carrying these 3 backs on the roster right now, but I wouldn’t be surprised if they add somebody before the playoffs.

In the receiving game, Brandon Bolden saves the group from a lower grade with his performance. Bolden had 82 receiving yards to go along with a touchdown. He was the Patriots second-leading receiver, with only Gronkowski finishing with more yards. His offensive snaps have increased, and it seems that he has surpassed White as the primary receiving back.
